SUMMARY:John at Catapult Atlanta!
DESCRIPTION:To register for classes\, please visit https://catapultacting.com/events/john-daquino-workshop-series/ \n\n\n\nJohn returns to Catapult Acting Studios with classes and new Masterclasses! \n\n\n\nSCHEDULE  \n\n\n\nSATURDAY\, APRIL 22ND\n\n\n\nMagic Rectangle | Ages 10-16 | 9 AM-11:30 AM\n\n\n\nWe are told that acting is best done “in the moment.” Yet\, acting for the camera means that the moment must unfold within the eye of the camera or run the risk of not being seen. There’s not much value in a discovery that is not appreciated by an audience. This course will apply John’s Magic Rectangle technique to each scene\, exploring the physical and emotional values available on the 4th Wall. John will then introduce his concept of the 5th Wall to enhance the experience. \n\n\n\nDynamic Disney + Nick | Ages 10-16 | 12:00 PM-2:30 PM\n\n\n\nDisney and Nickelodeon require a special energy that is not only dynamic and lively\, but is grounded in the show’s reality. Often\, actors think this means to “overact” or “ham it up”. This is NOT the case! Learn how to build believable characters in the genre\, identify specific characteristics of notable character tropes\, and how to bring your authentic self to it! \n\n\n\nActive Interrogation | Ages 10-16 | 3:00 PM-5:30 PM\n\n\n\nActing Interrogation is a technique\, developed by John D’Aquino\, that infuses true human reaction into scripted lines. Actors typically experience a disconnect between how they would organically respond versus how they respond to a line of dialogue they were anticipating. This technique illuminates human traits that you use every day that you may not understand how to employ in your work. The great thing is\, you’re already doing it! You’re just not bringing it to your work. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nSUNDAY\, APRIL 23RD\n\n\n\nMASTERCLASS: Villains\, Scoundrels\, and Voldemorts: Becoming the Villain | Ages 10-16 | 10:00 AM-2:00 PM\n\n\n\nOften\, the Hero isn’t the most interesting character. The people we remember are the Villains! You know\, the people we love to hate? But what makes a villain a villain? Why do we hate them? Why do they seem to be having so much fun being evil? In this course\, we’ll dive into the background\, archetypes\, psychology\, and nuances of these wonderfully\, horrible characters and let you work on scenes with some psychotic and iconic antagonists. Tap into your ability to be evil\, cunning and despicable and have a blast doing it! \n\n\n\nStudents will receive a scene to work on which will be performed and taped audition style during the Masterclass.*Prerequisite required. Cap at 14 students  \n\n\n\nMASTERCLASS: Vixens\, Villains\, and Voldemorts: Becoming the Villain | Ages 16 – Young Adult | 2:30 PM-6:30 PM\n\n\n\nOften\, the Hero isn’t the most interesting character.
