SUMMARY:John in Coronado\, California
DESCRIPTION:February 7th & 8th – AGES 8+ \n\n\n\nJohn brings his classes back to sunny Coronado!Coronado Community CenterAbalone Room1845 Strand Way\, Coronado\, CA 92118REGISTER HERE! \n\n\n\n SCHEDULE   SATURDAY\, FEBRUARY 7THBOOKING THE DISNEY/NICK MULTICAMYOUTH| Ages 8-13 | 10:00-11:30 AM \n\n\n\nDisney and Nickelodeon are firing up their multi-cam comedies once again! These shows require a special energy that is not only dynamic and lively\, but for some of the characters\, grounded in reality. Often\, actors think this means that they need to “overact” and create a “cartoon version” of their character. Disney and Nick want real kids who have a strong sense of self and can “find the funny” in almost every line. John teaches students where to look for the comedic reversals\, the triplet jokes\, and the different character archetypes and how they are defined by their objectives and behavior. Learn how to build believable characters in the genre\, identify specific characteristics of notable tropes\, and how to bring your authentic self to the role!FROM THE SLATE TO THE BUTTONYOUTH| Ages 8-13 | 11:45 AM-1:15 PM \n\n\n\nThe first thing most casting directors see is your slate. What is a slate and why is it important? Do you know what it means to “stay warm” to the character? Are there other things you can do to make your auditions more dynamic? Do you understand the power of a “discovery”? Do you know how to reveal it for the camera? What is a button and how do you use it? When is a button excessive? Learn what it means to “risk or add something” in a scene and still play within the boundaries of a professional audition.  \n\n\n\nSTRANGER KIDS: MYSTERY AND ‘WHO DONE IT’S’YOUTH| Ages 9-13 | 1:45-3:15 PM \n\n\n\nWho stole the school mascot? Are there really ghosts in the Amityville Hotel? Where did the dead bank robbers bury all the gold? TV mysteries come in all shapes and sizes with many of them written especially for kids! This class focuses on preparing young actors for auditioning for television and film mysteries. Students will learn the archetypal characters in most mysteries while working on scenes from within the genre. Are you Colonel Mustard with a dagger in the Living Room or Nancy Drew looking at the murderers through a spy cam she set up on a dog collar? Come join the fun and learn how to make strong and specific choices for your colorful\, mystery character while building suspense and becoming unforgettable!Students who attend three courses will receive a complimentary lunch after the From the Slate to the Button Class/before the Stranger Kids Class.  \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n SUNDAY\, FEBRUARY 8TH BOOKING THE DISNEY/NICK MULTICAMTEEN/ADULT| Ages 14+ | 10:00-11:30 AM \n\n\n\nDisney and Nickelodeon are firing up their multi-cam comedies once again! In order for the material to not sound silly\, actors must truly commit to their character’s objectives while living in a heightened reality. TV writers only write characters that move the story forward in hopes of grabbing an audience. On these stylized shows\, you must have a look\, a signature\, and a purpose. In this class\, you will learn to create indelible characters that make the story stronger while working with carefully selected scenes from the genre.Students who attend at least two courses will receive a complimentary lunch after the From the Slate to the Button Class/before the Teen Drama Class. \n\n\n\nPRICING – $135/Class*All classes have a 14 Student Limit. If a class reaches it’s limit\, the class will be extended an extra 15-30 minutes.Registration is through the Coronado Recreation website. Take all the confusion out of auditions and learn how to perform for the camera. The Magic Rectangle is John’s technique for delivering dynamic and indelible on-camera performances. John’s simple emotional template will immediately improve student’s taped auditions by imposing structure on the imaginary fourth wall canvas that exists around the camera. If you’ve never trained with John\, this is a great place to start. Taught it to thousands of actors across the country and in Hollywood\, this class will dramatically improve your taped auditions!MAGIC RECTANGLE (ADVANCED): SCENE WORKYOUTH| Ages 8-12 | 10:45 AM-12:15 PMTEEN| Ages 13-17 | 2:30-4:00 PM*Beginner version of this class is prerequisite.Actors learn to apply John’s Magic Rectangle Technique in a scene that they will perform with several off-camera partners while learning to direct that performance into the “money” zone that exists around the camera. John’s camera games & exercises teach students the meaning of “eye-lines” and to which off-camera character they must focus their primary dramatic emphasis. This class will change how you audition as well as help you deliver captivating performances for TV and film.        Veteran actor and master teacher John D’Aquino (S.W.A.T\, Leanne\, Seinfeld\, 3rd Rock from the Sun\, NCIS\,CSI\, Cory in the House\, Shake it Up\, Hannah Montana) starred in six TV series and recurred and guest starred on dozens of other popular shows. His love for performing is surpassed only by his love for teaching\, a love inspired by his mentor\, teacher and friend\, Charles Nelson Riley\, who instilled in his students a passion for helping actors create dynamic performances by reaching deep into the human spirit.PRICINGSINGLE CLASS: $125 THREE CLASS PACK: $300Choose any three classes for you/your child’s age $75 discountFOUR (ALL) CLASS PACK: $325ALL classes for you/your child’s age $100 discountAll classes have a 16 Student Limit. If purchasing a class pack\, please visit HERE. SUMMARY:John in Boca Raton
DESCRIPTION:WE’RE BACKBOCA RATON !DATES November 8th & 9thAGES 8+This November\, John’s back for a weekend of classes! REGISTER HERE! LOCATIONBroadway Bound Academy23102 Sandalfoot Plaza DriveBoca Raton\, FL 33428SCHEDULE   SATURDAY\, NOVEMBER 8TH BOOKING THE DISNEY/NICK MULTICAMYOUTH| Ages 8-12 | 9:00-10:30 AMTEEN/ADULT| Ages 13+ | 12:45-2:15 PMDisney and Nickelodeon are firing up their multi-cam comedies once again! Learn how to build believable characters in the genre\, identify specific characteristics of notable tropes\, and how to bring your authentic self to the role! FROM THE SLATE TO THE BUTTONYOUTH| Ages 8-12 | 10:45 AM-12:15 PMTEEN/ADULT| Ages 13+ | 2:30-4:00 PMThe first thing most casting directors see is your slate. SUNDAY\, NOVEMBER 9TH ACTIVE INTERROGATIONYOUTH| Ages 8-12 | 1:30-3:15 PMTEEN/ADULT| Ages 13+ | 9:00-10:45 AMSimply put\, this course will make you a better actor and take your craft to the next level! Active Interrogation is John’s signature technique that infuses true human reaction into scripted lines. In short\, you will never have “blank face” again in between the lines. Actors typically experience a disconnect between how they would organically respond in a conversation with their friends or family versus how they respond to lines of dialogue. Because they know what the other character is about to say\, they often just prepare for their next line. John’s technique can be taught to young actors as well as adults. It applies the instinctive human traits that you use everyday to determine everything from whether you’re hungry to whether or not you are in danger. The great thing about the technique is that you’re already doing it! You’re just not applying it to your scripted work. John guarantees that if you practice this technique\, your craft will rise to the next level and beyond. If you truly want to up your game\, don’t miss this class. STRANGER KIDS: MYSTERY AND ‘WHO DONE IT’S’YOUTH| Ages 8-12 | 3:30-5:00 PMWho stole the school mascot? Are there really ghosts in the Amityville Hotel? Where did the dead bank robbers bury all the gold? TV mysteries come in all shapes and sizes with many of them written especially for kids! This class focuses on preparing young actors for auditioning for television and film mysteries. Students will learn the archetypal characters in most mysteries while working on scenes from within the genre. Are you Colonel Mustard with a dagger in the Living Room or Nancy Drew looking at the murderers through a spy cam she set up on a dog collar? Come join the fun and learn how to make strong and specific choices for your colorful\, mystery character while building suspense and becoming unforgettable! BOOKING THE TEEN DRAMA(Gossip Girl\, Outer Banks\, Vampire Diaries)TEEN/ADULT| Ages 13+ | 11:00 AM-12:30 PMThe acting on most teen dramas tends to be a little over-the-top. In order for the material to not sound silly\, actors must truly commit to their character’s objectives while living in a heightened reality. TV writers only write characters that move the story forward in hopes of grabbing an audience. On these stylized shows\, you must have a look\, a signature\, and a purpose. In this class\, you will learn to create indelible characters that make the story stronger while working with carefully selected scenes from the genre.John highly recommends taking the Active Interrogation Class if you plan on attending this course.PRICINGSINGLE CLASS: $125 THREE CLASS PACK: $300 Choose any three classes for you/your child’s age $75 discountFOUR (ALL) CLASS PACK: $325ALL classes for you/your child’s age$100 discountAll classes have a 16 Student Limit. To register\, please click on the REGISTER HERE button\, find the specific class(es) on the calendar\, click on them\, and proceed with the information requested. If you have any questions\, please reach out to emily@johndaquino.netREGISTER HERE

SUMMARY:John in Cleveland
DESCRIPTION:GET READY CLEVELAND!DATES February 1st & 2ndKick off 2025 with classic and new classes!REGISTER HERE!LOCATIONFirst Team Actors Studio4954 Great Northern Blvd STE 107North Olmsted\, OH 44070\n\n\n\n SCHEDULE   SATURDAY\, FEBRUARY 1ST MAGIC RECTANGLE (BEGINNER)YOUTH| Ages 9-15 | 9:00-11:00 AM ADULT| Ages 16+ | 1:30-3:30 PM John’s MAGIC RECTANGLE course (acting for the camera) has helped launch hundreds of careers. The course teaches actors how to deliver consistent\, dynamic\, and indelible on-camera performances. John’s simple math for performing for the camera will immediately improve actor’s taped auditions by imposing structure on the imaginary fourth wall that is the canvas around the camera. This class offers tangible tools that performers can rely on to better help them see the world of their character and deliver more consistent\, truthful and three-dimensional\, taped auditions. MAGIC RECTANGLE (ADVANCED)YOUTH| Ages 9-15 | 11:15 AM-1:15 PM ADULT| Ages 16+ | 4:00-6:00 PM*You must have previously taken the Beginner Course to take this Advanced ClassActors learn to apply John’s Magic Rectangle Technique in a scene that they will perform with several off-camera partners. They will learn how to direct their performance’s into the “golden zone” that exists around the camera. John’s original camera games/exercises teach students the meaning of “eye-lines” and to which off-camera character they must focus their primary dramatic emphasis. This class will change how actors audition as well as help them deliver captivating performances for TV and film. SUNDAY\, FEBRUARY 2NDACTIVE INTERROGATION ADULT| Ages 16+ | 9 AM-11 AMSimply put\, this course will make a new actor better and help an experienced actor take their craft to the next level. ACTIVE INTERROGATION is John’s signature technique that infuses true human reaction into scripted lines. Actors typically experience a disconnect between how they would organically respond to an unfolding situation versus how their character might. Less-experienced actors tend to shun their own life experience when they put on their “Actor caps.” John will teach them to find every discovery unfolding in the world of their character.  John guarantees that if you practice this technique\, your craft will rise to the next level and beyond. If you’re ready to up your game\, don’t miss this class MASTERING THE WALK AND TALK SCENE:PRACTICAL ACTING 101 FOR TV/FILMADULT| Ages 16+ | 11:30 AM-3 PM*30 minute break with lunch included Actors tend to get nervous when the set lights turn on and the cameras start rolling. They’re adrenaline and anxiety begin to rise and the first thing they forget is their training! This course allows actors to find their comfort levels as well as their marks while performing in an ensemble walk and talk scene. Actors will have two or three places\, within the scene\, where they need to stop on their marks without looking down at the ground to locate them. Learn how to walk and talk like a pro while committing to the life of your character! MAKING YOUR CHARACTER HUMAN:TURNING TECHNIQUE INTO THE ORGANICADULT| Ages 16+ | 3:30-5:30 PMWhy is it that we don’t believe so many actor’s performances? Why can’t actors be as natural in their roles as they are in their true life? Is it really that hard to just be… real? Apparently\, yes. Less experienced actors struggle to apply all the techniques they learn in class into organic\, unfolding\, moment to moment\, human interactions. How can we be more authentic while reciting lines of dialogue from a script? MAKING YOUR CHARACTER HUMAN focuses on NOT trying to be perfect but rather making character choices that are close to who you are in true life. Utilizing exercises that force actors to dig deeper\, John will teach actors to find their own voice in their scripted material. The Goal is not perfection\, the goal is human. PRICINGONE 2-HOUR CLASS: $150 Either Magic Rectangle Beginner or Advanced\, Active Interrogation\, or Making Your Character HumanMASTERING THE WALK AND TALK SCENE: $250 Includes lunchTHREE 2-HOUR CLASS PACK: $375 Either Magic Rectangle Beginner or Advanced\, Active Interrogation\, and/or Making Your Character HumanALL 5-CLASS PACK: $595 Magic Rectangle Beginner\, Magic Rectangle Advanced\, Active Interrogation\, Mastering the Walk and Talk\, & Making Your Character HumanLunch included for the Walk and Talk ClassAll classes have a 16 Student Limit. To purchase for a CLASS PACK\, please click HERE\, and then use your subscription code received to register for the classes. If you have any questions\, please reach out to emily@johndaquino.netREGISTER HERE

SUMMARY:Objectives Workshop & Industry Showcase
DESCRIPTION:OBJECTIVES WORKSHOP & INDUSTRY SHOWCASE (Character Expectations\, Objectives & Conflict)\n\n\n\nSave your spot for this two weekend intensive ending in a scene partner SHOWCASE!Dates: Oct. 26th\, Nov. 2nd & 3rdTime: 10am – 2pm PSTAges: 9 – early 20’sAll sessions are online via Zoom.\n\n\n\nREGISTER HERE\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nEvery character\, just like every person\, has an “expectation” of how their day will go based on patterns established over time. What they want to achieve in any given moment is called their “objective.” This objective might be to convince a teacher for a better grade\, or to ask someone out on a date\, or possibly convince mom and dad to let you go to a sleepover or a concert.A good scene must have an objective\, but it must also have conflict – something that gets in between the character’s objective and the reality they are confronting. This is what the audience pays to see: the moments where all the elements culminate in either comedic chaos or a dramatic explosion in a highly charged environment. When an unforeseen conflict occurs\, the character must navigate either around\, over or through whatever is keeping them from achieving their objective. When a detour appears\, how will your character adjust? Do you give up\, fight or work to find a possible solution? Learn how to raise the stakes by committing to the  expectations\, objectives and conflicts that your character is facing. Learn how by making specific choices\, your performance will soar! In between\, the first and second weekend\, students and their partners will meet with John for additional scene rehearsal. On the final day\, students will perform scenes (partner style) in front of industry guests and receive invaluable feedback!\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nPrice: $675\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nREGISTER HERE
