Weekly lesson plans range from character prep\, script analysis\, adjusting performance to specific genres with an intense focus on both popular comedies and dramas. This course will dive deep into the science of auditioning – from the entrance to the slate\, ensuring you are prepared to deliver dynamic and memorable performances. When not performing\, students help operate the cameras to better understand how the camera sees the world. By doing so\, students learn to better shape performances for the camera\, from the master\, to the over-the-shoulder to the close-up. This class includes warm-up games and celebrates all aspects of acting for the camera.

During the week before\, John D’Aquino will work with students to go over each scene’s objectives\, expectations\, conflicts\, discoveries and more. That following Sunday\, students will perform their scenes for Jill Anthony Thomas who will then offer notes and a redirect. All actors will perform their scene twice for Jill.Please Note: This is an educational experience. At the conclusion of the workshop\, the instructor will NOT be taking home nor given access to your headshot\, resume\, or any other of your promotional materials. This is not an audition or employment opportunity.  Jill Anthony Thomas is an award-winning Los Angeles based casting director with over 30 years of experience in television and film. She casts a wide variety of projects from comedy to drama\, broadcast network to streaming\, live action to animation\, and both comedy and drama feature films. Some of her favorite past credits include Gilmore Girls\, Futurama\, The Real O’Neals\, Better off Ted\, and Best in Show. Jill is passionate about finding and fostering young talent.Veteran actor and master teacher John D’Aquino (S.W.A.T\, Seinfeld\, 3rd Rock from the Sun\, NCIS\,CSI\, Cory in the House\, Shake it Up\, Hannah Montana) starred in six TV series and recurred and guest starred on dozens of other popular shows. His love for performing is surpassed only by his love for teaching\, a love inspired by his mentor\, teacher and friend\, Charles Nelson Riley\, who instilled in his students a passion for helping actors create dynamic performances by reaching deep into the human spirit.
