This course will dive deep into the science of auditioning – from the entrance to the slate\, ensuring you are prepared to deliver dynamic and memorable performances. When not performing\, students help operate the cameras to better understand how the camera sees the world. By doing so\, students learn to better shape performances for the camera\, from the master\, to the over-the-shoulder to the close-up. This class includes warm-up games and celebrates all aspects of acting for the camera.

Acting Interrogation is John’s signature technique that infuses true human reaction into scripted lines. Actors typically experience a disconnect between how they would organically respond versus how they respond to a line of dialogue that they were anticipating. This technique can be taught to young actors as well as adults. It applies the instinctive human traits that you use everyday to determine everything from whether you’re hungry to whether or not you are in danger. The great thing is\, you’re already doing it!
