This course will dive deep into the science of auditioning – from the entrance to the slate\, ensuring you are prepared to deliver dynamic and memorable performances. When not performing\, students help operate the cameras to better understand how the camera sees the world. By doing so\, students learn to better shape performances for the camera\, from the master\, to the over-the-shoulder to the close-up. This class includes warm-up games and celebrates all aspects of acting for the camera.

Disney and Nick want real kids who have a strong sense of self and can “find the funny” in almost every line. John teaches students where to look for the comedic reversals\, the triplet jokes\, and the different character archetypes and how they are defined by their objectives and behavior. Learn what it means to “risk or add something” in a scene and still play within the boundaries of a professional audition.  \n\n\n\nSTRANGER KIDS: MYSTERY AND ‘WHO DONE IT’S’YOUTH| Ages 9-13 | 1:45-3:15 PM \n\n\n\nWho stole the school mascot? Are there really ghosts in the Amityville Hotel? Where did the dead bank robbers bury all the gold? TV mysteries come in all shapes and sizes with many of them written especially for kids! This class focuses on preparing young actors for auditioning for television and film mysteries. Students will learn the archetypal characters in most mysteries while working on scenes from within the genre. In order for the material to not sound silly\, actors must truly commit to their character’s objectives while living in a heightened reality. TV writers only write characters that move the story forward in hopes of grabbing an audience. On these stylized shows\, you must have a look\, a signature\, and a purpose. In this class\, you will learn to create indelible characters that make the story stronger while working with carefully selected scenes from the genre.Students who attend at least two courses will receive a complimentary lunch after the From the Slate to the Button Class/before the Teen Drama Class. \n\n\n\nPRICING – $135/Class*All classes have a 14 Student Limit. SUMMARY:Camp Demo Reel (Feb 7\, 14-16)
DESCRIPTION:Get a comedic and dramatic scene for your demo reel! DATES February 7th: Virtual Classes/RehearsalsFebruary 14th-16th: In-Person Classes/Rehearsals/Filming  Sessions are partially online via Zoom and in-person in LAREGISTER HERECamp Demo Reel is a half virtual\, half live in person 4-day intensive that teaches script and scene preparation\, on camera acting technique\, how to adjust your performance to the frame\, and culminates in filming two scenes – one comedic and one dramatic – for your demo reel. We will provide customized scenes and shoot them with a professional crew and broadcast quality HD.SCHEDULEDAY ONE (VITRUAL):The first day of camp will be from 9 AM-2 PM (PST) jam-packed with acting technique lessons and demo reel scene rehearsals. DAY TWO (IN-PERSON): The second day of camp will happen one week later where we will have final acting classes and scene rehearsals before filming the following days. This day will be from 9AM-2 PM as well.DAYS THREE & FOUR (IN-PERSON): The final days will be dedicated to filming your personal demo reel scenes which will premiere on our Vimeo Showcase once our editors have finished post-production. We will also provide you with a copy of your completed reel and if you have other existing footage that you would like to add to make a more comprehensive demo reel\,  our editors can do that for you for an additional fee of $75/hr. Since these are production days\, hours will varying depending on call times.LOCATION:The first day of camp will be virtual so you can work from home.
