BOOKING THE DISNEY/NICK AUDITION
ALL AGES| Ages 9+ | 9:00-11:00 AM

Disney and Nickelodeon require a special energy that is not only dynamic and lively, but is grounded in the show’s reality. Often, actors think this means to “overact” or “ham it up”. This is NOT the case! Learn how to build believable characters in the genre, identify specific characteristics of notable character tropes, and how to bring your authentic self to it!

STRANGER KIDS: STRANGER THINGS, GOOSEBUMPS, ARE YOU AFRAID OF THE DARK
ALL AGES| Ages 9+ | 11:00 AM-1:00 PM 

Who stole the school mascot? Are there really ghosts in the Amityville Hotel? Where did the dead bank robbers bury all the gold? TV mysteries come in all kinds, shapes and sizes and many of them for kids!  This class focuses on preparing young actors for auditioning for television and film mysteries. Students will learn the archetypal characters in every cast, what is their function and how do they serve the story? We will role play scenes with actors switching roles mid-scene. Come join the fun and learn loads about how to make strong and specific choices in your auditions for TV MYSTERIES

ACTING IN THE FANTASY ADVENTURE GENRE
ALL AGES| Ages 9+ | 1:30-3:30 PM

Mythical beasts, magic, swords and sorcery captivate audiences seeking a departure from the real world. But how does an actor prepare themselves for a character living in a strange new or alien world? The actor must build the world around them and allow for all the environmental elements to affect them. Prepare to tumble in time into the worlds of Percy Jackson and the Olympians, House of the Dragon, Wednesday, Outlander, etc… and learn how to deliver believable performances in a fantastical world.

BENTONVILLE SCHEDULE   SUNDAY, MARCH 10TH 

ACTIVE INTERROGATION (BEGINNER)
TEEN/ADULT | Ages 12+ | 10:00 AM-12:00 PM

Simply put, this course will make you a better actor and take it to the next level. Acting Interrogation is John’s signature technique that infuses true human reaction into scripted lines. Actors typically experience a disconnect between how they would organically respond versus how they respond to a line of dialogue that they were anticipating. This technique can be taught to young actors as well as adults. It applies the instinctive human traits that you use everyday to determine everything from whether you’re hungry to whether or not you are in danger. The great thing is, you’re already doing it! You’re just not applying it to your scripted work. John guarantees that if you practice this technique, your craft will rise to the next level and beyond.  ACTIVE INTERROGATION (ADVANCED)
TEEN/ADULT | Ages 12+ | 12:00-2:00 PM. *Beginner Course Prerequisite to take Advanced Class

It’s time to put the technique into practice! Actors will be given material prior to the class for them to perform initially. Once all scene partners complete the first read, actors will apply the Active Interrogation Technique to their individual scenes, then perform them incorporating the interrogations in front of the class. John will review the interrogations of each student throughout the class.
