  SCHEDULE SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 1ST MAGIC RECTANGLE (BEGINNER) YOUTH| Ages 9-15 | 9:00-11:00 AM ADULT| Ages 16+ | 1:30-3:30 PMJohn’s MAGIC RECTANGLE course (acting for the camera) has helped launch hundreds of careers. The course teaches actors how to deliver consistent, dynamic, and indelible on-camera performances. John’s simple math for performing for the camera will immediately improve actor’s taped auditions by imposing structure on the imaginary fourth wall that is the canvas around the camera. This class offers tangible tools that performers can rely on to better help them see the world of their character and deliver more consistent, truthful and three-dimensional, taped auditions. MAGIC RECTANGLE (ADVANCED) YOUTH| Ages 9-15 | 9:00-11:00 AM ADULT| Ages 16+ | 1:30-3:30 PM *You must have previously taken the Beginner Course to take this Advanced Class Actors learn to apply John’s Magic Rectangle Technique in a scene that they will perform with several off-camera partners. They will learn how to direct their performance’s into the “golden zone” that exists around the camera. John’s original camera games/exercises teach students the meaning of “eye-lines” and to which off-camera character they must focus their primary dramatic emphasis. This class will change how actors audition as well as help them deliver captivating performances for TV and film.  SUNDAY, FEBRUARY 2ND ACTIVE INTERROGATION ADULT| Ages 16+ | 9 AM-11 AM Simply put, this course will make a new actor better and help an experienced actor take their craft to the next level. ACTIVE INTERROGATION is John’s signature technique that infuses true human reaction into scripted lines. Actors typically experience a disconnect between how they would organically respond to an unfolding situation versus how their character might. Less-experienced actors tend to shun their own life experience when they put on their “Actor caps.” John will teach them to find every discovery unfolding in the world of their character. John guarantees that if you practice this technique, your craft will rise to the next level and beyond. If you’re ready to up your game, don’t miss this class MASTERING THE WALK AND TALK SCENE: PRACTICAL ACTING 101 FOR TV/FILM ADULT| Ages 16+ | 11:30 AM-3 PM *30 minute break with lunch included Actors tend to get nervous when the set lights turn on and the cameras start rolling. They’re adrenaline and anxiety begin to rise and the first thing they forget is their training! This course allows actors to find their comfort levels as well as their marks while performing in an ensemble walk and talk scene. Actors will have two or three places, within the scene, where they need to stop on their marks without looking down at the ground to locate them. Learn how to walk and talk like a pro while committing to the life of your character! MAKING YOUR CHARACTER HUMAN: TURNING TECHNIQUE INTO THE ORGANIC ADULT| Ages 16+ | 3:30-5:30 PM Why is it that we don’t believe so many actor’s performances? Why can’t actors be as natural in their roles as they are in their true life? Is it really that hard to just be… real? Apparently, yes. Less experienced actors struggle to apply all the techniques they learn in class into organic, unfolding, moment to moment, human interactions. How can we be more authentic while reciting lines of dialogue from a script? MAKING YOUR CHARACTER HUMAN focuses on NOT trying to be perfect but rather making character choices that are close to who you are in true life. Utilizing exercises that force actors to dig deeper, John will teach actors to find their own voice in their scripted material.The Goal is not perfection, the goal is human.
