JDAW is happy to announce our first-ever public ZOOM MOVIE CHALLENGE!
In this challenge, actors will write, shoot, and edit a short film shot either partially or entirely on Zoom. The characters don’t necessarily need to be “on a zoom call” together… they could be anywhere! In the same place or in two exotic locations, on a rollercoaster, an island, in an alien universe… the possibilities are endless! This challenge is open to all ages and can be any genre.
CATEGORIES
All entries will be considered for the following categories and will be judged by our Film Jury Committee. Each category will have one winner and two semi-finalists:
PURE ZOOM FILM (film must be shot entirely over Zoom)
Best Actor
Best Actress
Best Film
Best Screenplay
ZOOM PLUS FILM (20% of the film must be shot over Zoom)**
Best Actor
Best Actress
Best Film (Winner receives $1,000!!!)
Best Screenplay
**$50 Submission Fee Required
Winners will receive monetary prizes with semi-finalists winning a free class credit to one of our virtual weekly classes ($75 value)! All winners and semi-finalists will receive a JDAW T-Shirt!
Film Submission Deadline: November 15th, 2024 (11:59 PM PST)
Winners will be announced on our social media on December 21st, 2024.
We hope participants will take this opportunity to bend conventional filmmaking techniques and produce a Zoom movie masterpiece!
RULES & REQUIREMENTS Filmmaker(s) must be under 25 years of age
Must be filmed entirely or partially on Zoom depending on submission type
Must include at least two characters Film running times can be no longer than 5 minutes for PURE ZOOM ; no longer than 10 minutes for ZOOM PLUS.
Must be PG/PG-13 (no graphic violence over overuse of vulgar language)
